The huge amount of work that has gone into preparations for this week’s Irish Open has ensured that Lahinch will create a memorable impression for an international television audience of several million.

 That’s the view of Clare Fine Gael TD Joe Carey who has paid tribute to the members of Lahinch Golf Club and the local community for the manner in which they have prepared for the event.

“There has been a meticulous approach to the preparations which have been continuing for several months and the results have been truly amazing. The contribution of Lahinch Golf Club, The European Tour, Fáilte Ireland, Clare County Council, along with tournament sponsors Dubai Duty Free, An Garda Siochana and the local community, has brought a level of professionalism that will present a very positive image of Clare and its outstanding natural attractions.
