Clare Fine Gael TD Joe Carey has confirmed that the Department of Education has approved funding for the provision of a special education room at St Conaire’s national school in Shannon.
He said that no details have been given of the amount of funding approved by the Department’s School Building Unit, as the publication of the amount of grant aid could prejudice the tendering process.
“The School Building Unit will issue detailed letters on the relevant projects directly to the school authorities and these letters will inform the school authorities of the amount of grant aid sanctioned,” Deputy Carey explained.
