Quin Road Railway Bridge Pedestrian Facilities works to begin in October
Local Fine Gael TD Joe Carey has received confirmation from CIE / Iarnród Éireann that work to provide a safe pedestrian walkway at the Quin Road Railway Bridge will commence in early October.
Deputy Carey said:
“This is an issue which I have pursued for some time. It’s an absolute miracle that a pedestrian has not been killed while negotiating this dangerous bridge. It’s my understanding that approval has been sought by Clare Co. Council from the Railway Safety Commission for the works to proceed. When approval is granted CIE / Iarnród Éireann will be in a position to allow works to commence. I have been informed by Mr. Niall Grogan, Group Property Manger CIE that these works are expected to begin in early October.”
“The provision of a safe pedestrian walkway at the Quin Road Railway Bridge will be a welcome relief for pedestrians and motorists alike. I am delighted that this much needed development is finally nearing construction.”
