THE Burren Food Trail is among 19 agri-food tourism projects that will share a funding package of almost €300,000 from this year’s Rural Innovation and Development Fund.
Confirming the allocation of €10,780 to the Burren Eco Tourism Network, Clare Fine Gael TD Joe Carey said that the Government’s ten-year strategy for the agriculture sector, ‘Food Vision 2030’, highlights the natural synergy between agri-food and local tourism.
“It allows food companies of all sizes to showcase their people, landscape, history and culture through agricultural produce, food and drink and local cuisine.
“In also provides opportunities for rural businesses, including farmers, producers and artisans, to develop their products and services, connect with the community and visitors and improve skills and best practice,” Deputy Carey added.
